Geographical Information System Branch Management is responsible for the infrastructure of the city to be formed and the necessary inspections to be carried out. Water and sewer information is gathered, followed and updated. Potable water branch pipes are shut down and if any defect is detected, the effected area, lot is located, therefore, there is big coordination between this office and Mapping and Geographical Information System Branch Management.

1. To provide running software and hardware relevant to GIS, coordination and organization of staff.
2. To transfer and evaluate Kayseri underground water network to GIS software field.
3. To transfer and evaluate Kayseri sewerage network to GIS software field.
4. To update and follow the changes and additions carried out in the potable water network in the GIS system.
5. To process and edit authority of new constructions and network informations to the Arc INFO software.
6. To print out and prepare  network information according to the request from institution or out of institution.
7. To update and correct  maps which are sub base of GIS.
8. To connect GIS program with subscriber information.
9. To determine the missing districts from the maps and to make the necessary corrections in the maps.
10. To interrogate and analyse Kayseri potable water network information in the Arc View and KAYBİS (Kaski Substructure Information System) environment.
    KAYBİS PROJECTS
    With the KAYBİS project sight and public survey, works over 200.000 subscribers are done and the information gathered is transferred into this numerical system. To update the current 1/1000 numerical map, nearly 250km2 of an area was scanned from the satellite and a precision map is produced with 1 m coordinate sensitivity. Also a map with 1/2500 scale showing the building heights in the dimensional sight model is produced.
    200.000 subscribers’ information is gathered from the zone and transferred to the numerical system.
    Development plan and substructure maps (potable water and sewerage) are transferred to GIS and database is written..
    To develop the application software to approximately 42 units so as to ensure KASKI automation.
    Interrogate and analyses of all datas in database situation.
    Subscriber and building information forms which are collected via site and public survey are transferred to GIS system and it is formed of two parts; verbal and graphic in this system,
